What are Cookies?
A cookie is a small piece of data that may be stored on your computer or mobile device. It allows a website to “remember” your actions or preferences over a period of time. We use cookies to assist us in understanding how you use the website so it can be updated and improved based on your needs, and to provide relevant information in an easily accessible format.
Cookies set by the website owner are “first-party cookies” which in the case of the Sites is Gigamon. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third-party cookies.” Third party cookies enable third parties to provide features or functionality on our Sites, such as advertising, certain interactive features or analytics.
Why do we use cookies?
Gigamon and its third-party vendors use first-party and third-party cookies for different reasons. For example, we may use cookies to understand what areas of our Sites are of interest to our users so we can better target information, and to monitor which pages on our Sites draw the most traffic.
We may use some cookies to operate our site, which are “strictly necessary cookies” and cannot be turned off. Our third-party vendors may place third party cookies to provide information that we can use to provide advertising or analytics, improve user experience, and other purposes.
Examples of the types of cookies that we use and their purposes are summarized in the chart below.
